Intel Signs Fortinet as First Foundry Customer for Intel 4 Security Chips
Intel and Fortinet announced a strategic collaboration to co-develop the Fortinet Security Processor 6, making Fortinet Intel’s first named external customer for the Intel 4 process node. The partnership will leverage Intel’s foundry design, packaging, and manufacturing capabilities for the next-generation security chip.
The deal expands a long-standing relationship between the two companies and advances Fortinet’s custom chip roadmap while diversifying its semiconductor supply chain. It marks the first named foundry customer for CEO Lip-Bu Tan. The announcement comes Tuesday.
