FDA Finds Taylor Farms Lettuce Parasite Test a False Positive, Taco Bell Traffic Drops 19%
The FDA said laboratory experts re-checked lettuce sample results from supplier Taylor Farms in an investigation into a cyclospora parasite outbreak and concluded the initial finding was a false positive.
The agency maintained that iceberg lettuce remains the suspected source and noted that testing is continuing on products pulled from the market. Meanwhile, foot traffic at Taco Bell locations dropped nearly 19% below the chain’s daily Friday average on July 17, according to data from Placer AI.
