U.S. Launches New Iran Strikes at 4 P.M. ET, Hits Capabilities Used to Attack Shipping

politicswarworldiranus-foreign-policy 630 posts · 99 accounts

U.S. forces began a new round of strikes against Iran at 4 p.m. ET, aimed at further degrading Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, according to CENTCOM.

Earlier, President Donald Trump said Iran would pay many times over every time it killed an American soldier. A U.S. official told Axios the strikes would continue until Trump decides otherwise, while talks with Iran remain ongoing. Iranian media later reported blasts in Chabahar and Konarak, air defense activity near the Bushehr nuclear power plant, explosions in Sirik and a projectile strike around Shiraz, while local authorities in Isfahan denied reports of an attack and state media said an earlier attack near Khomein caused no casualties.
