Russia's Sheskharis Oil Terminal Halts Crude Loadings for Third Day on Drone Strikes
Russia's Sheskharis oil terminal at the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk halted crude tanker loadings for a third day following a surge in Ukrainian drone strikes, Bloomberg News reported. Shipping data, satellite imagery, and vessel tracking show the terminal stopped handling cargoes on July 21. A storm alert covering the facility did not take effect until late Thursday, ruling out bad weather as the shutdown's cause.
The Novorossiysk pause widens the disruption to oil flows in the region, following earlier strikes that forced the nearby Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal to suspend operations. The dual outage effectively blocks a major crude export corridor used by both Russian and Kazakh producers, tightening available pipeline routes for regional shipments.
