Craneware Discloses Cyber Breach That Exfiltrates Data, Shares Fall 8%
Craneware disclosed a cybersecurity incident to the London Stock Exchange, revealing unauthorized actors accessed a subset of its data environment and exfiltrated a large volume of file names. The company said a percentage of employee records and a portion of customer and partner data were accessed, though it assessed most of the material is non-sensitive or already public.
The breach has been contained with no operational disruption, leading to the appointment of external forensic specialists and notifications to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office and the US FBI. The disclosure comes as the AIM-listed company’s shares drop 8%. Craneware is identifying affected parties and will issue further market updates as regulatory requirements are met.
