Russia Extends Gasoline Export Ban Through Year-End, Lifts Diesel Curb as Market Recovers
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced that Moscow will extend the ban on gasoline exports until the end of the year. The government applied the restriction to both producers and non-producers to prioritize domestic fuel deliveries amid shortages.
Novak stated plans to lift the diesel export ban as the market recovers to prevent refinery oversupply and maintain processing volumes. While he noted that refinery operations are stabilizing and agricultural deliveries are a priority, he warned that fully normalizing the market remains premature, citing continued supply challenges in Siberian regions.
