Nanya Technology will open a NT$500 billion ($15.5 billion) memory chip facility in Taishan early next year, media reports said. The plant marks the company’s first use of extreme ultraviolet lithography.
The new site aims to close the production gap with larger global memory chipmakers. The maker is also developing custom AI ultra-wide I/O memory chips as an alternative to high-bandwidth memory for edge computing, alongside advancing wafer-on-wafer production technology.
