Iran Launches Ballistic Missiles Toward Aqaba; Explosions Heard in Eilat

politicswarworldiranmiddle-east 227 posts · 38 accounts

Ballistic missiles launched from Iran were reported heading toward Aqaba in southern Jordan early Wednesday, with interception attempts reported and explosions heard in the nearby Israeli city of Eilat. A later report said the U.S. Army made the interception and that there were no impacts in Israel.

The launches were reported from Tabriz in northwestern Iran and from Kermanshah in western Iran. Smoke was seen rising from the Jordanian side and was later described as shrapnel. Aqaba was also targeted on July 20, when Jordan said it intercepted three missiles launched from Iran and reported no injuries or damage.
