Tempus AI Buys Personalis in $1.5 Billion Deal to Expand Cancer Recurrence Monitoring
Tempus AI agreed to acquire cancer testing company Personalis for $1.5 billion, or $16.25 per share in an all-stock transaction that allows the buyer to pay up to 50% in cash.
The deal adds Personalis’ NeXT Personal minimal residual disease monitoring technology to Tempus’s artificial intelligence and clinical data platform, extending its capabilities in cancer recurrence screening. Personalis shares trade at a 6% premium to the latest closing price and a 28% premium to the unaffected 30-day average.
