Bitcoin Reclaims $66,000 on $227 Million ETF Inflows and Soft US Inflation
Bitcoin recovered to $66,000, its highest level since June, after US spot exchange-traded funds drew $226.8 million into bitcoin products on Monday. The cryptocurrency advanced nearly 12% from a late-June trough of $59,000, while a CMC Fear & Greed index gauge climbed to 40 to signal a return to neutral conditions.
The rally followed June core inflation data released July 14 that came in at 2.6% year over year, beating forecasts of 2.8% and helping trigger five consecutive days of positive fund flows totaling $866.7 million for bitcoin and ether combined. Standard Chartered economist Geoffrey Kendrick noted the recovery suggests the market bottom may already be in, leaving a $100,000 price target possible for this year.
