Arcee AI Launches 1T-Parameter Open Science Model in $5 Billion U.S. Department of Energy Mission
Arcee AI launches Genesis-Science-1, an open-weight artificial intelligence model built to accelerate high-difficulty scientific workflows as part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s mission. The model is being developed as a 1T-parameter-class system, and the department is opening a contributor portal for researchers, laboratories, universities and companies to submit applications.
The initiative is supported by a broader $5 billion allocation expanded by the White House into a whole-of-government effort involving more than 15 agencies. Major technology firms including Microsoft, Google DeepMind and OpenAI have pledged funding and computing access, with Microsoft committing $60 million and OpenAI offering $4 million in model access for national labs and universities.
