Claude Automates Bring-Up of AMD MI355 Chips in One Weekend as AMD Invests $5 Billion in Anthropic
Anthropic's Claude model automated the hardware bring-up process for AMD's MI355 accelerators, with a single engineer running the AI over a weekend to generate a complete performance graph without manual software integration.
The test is part of a multi-year engineering collaboration announced alongside a broader agreement in which Anthropic will purchase up to 2 gigawatts of AMD MI450 series processors starting in the first half of 2027. Under the deal, AMD will invest up to $5 billion in Anthropic and will use Claude to optimize AI workloads across its Instinct GPUs.
