CXMT Launches Expansion to More Than Double Monthly Wafer Output, Lands $7 Billion ByteDance Supply Deal Ahead of IPO Debut

businesstechworldchina 7 posts · 6 accounts

Chinese memory chipmaker CXMT is expanding production capacity to more than double monthly wafer output and has secured a five-year supply agreement with ByteDance valued at more than $7 billion, according to sources.

The announcements arrive ahead of the company’s scheduled market debut on July 27, which concludes an $8.6 billion initial public offering on the Shanghai exchange. While the expanded capacity and new customer contract boost CXMT’s domestic scale, global peers Samsung and SK Hynix continue to hold a dominant position in high-margin memory segments.
