Ant International, the global arm of the Jack Ma-backed fintech group, closed a $1.2 billion Series A funding round backed by existing investors Ant Group and Alibaba, alongside other international institutions.
The company stated the proceeds will finance global expansion and innovation in merchant payments, account management and financial services for small and medium enterprises. The investment will support growth in cross-border payments and artificial intelligence-enabled commerce.
