3M Raises 2026 Profit Guidance to $8.80 Per Share After Earnings Beat
3M reported second-quarter adjusted earnings of $2.40 per share, beating estimates of $2.24, as revenue of $6.5 billion exceeded forecasts. The results, driven by mid-single-digit sales growth and an operating margin of 24.9%, led the company to raise its full-year 2026 adjusted profit forecast to between $8.80 and $8.95 per share.
The updated outlook projects total sales growth exceeding 4.5% and operating margin expansion of 70 to 80 basis points for the full year. Management noted that the guidance excludes the recently completed acquisition of Madison Fire & Rescue. Additionally, the company announced that Microsoft will deploy its Expanded Beam Optics technology for artificial intelligence data center infrastructure.
