Kuwait Suspends Flights After Iran Hits Power and Oil Sites
Kuwait suspended flights on Saturday after a heavy Iranian attack hit another power generation and water desalination plant and a separate oil-sector site, according to the electricity ministry and Kuwait Petroleum. The ministry said the plant attack caused a fire and forced several generation units offline as a precaution, while Kuwait Petroleum said repeated strikes on one of its vital sites caused injuries and significant material losses.
Iran's Revolutionary Guards said they launched missile and drone attacks on a US naval fuel-support pier at Kuwait's Al-Ahmadi port and a combat aircraft site at Bahrain's Sheikh Isa Air Base. Bahrain said it intercepted several Iranian air assaults and Jordan said it shot down 10 Iranian missiles, while several U.S. service members were injured in Iranian attacks on Jordanian bases earlier this week, sources said. The attacks followed US strikes, and concerns over a re-escalation of the war pushed oil prices higher.
