Trump Claims Iran Wants Deal, Says He Will Decide Whether to Settle or “Finish It Off”
President Donald Trump said Iran had called and wanted to make a deal, but later said he would decide whether to settle with Tehran or “finish it off.” Asked whether he was giving Iran a deadline before possible strikes on bridges, Trump said he did not like giving deadlines and that Iran already knew “the story.”
Asked whether deciding he could not negotiate with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard meant he might “wipe them out like you did ISIS,” Trump replied, “Yeah, it does. We will see what’s happening.” Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei later rejected Trump’s claim that Tehran had called and warned that any U.S. strike on Iranian soil would trigger a response.
