Hormuz Commercial Crossings Fall to 3 as Brent Settles Up 9.6%
Commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz fell to three crossings in the latest 24 hours, down from seven a day earlier and 57 at a June 24 rebound high, while Brent crude settled up 9.59% at $83.30 a barrel. Oil prices rose after President Donald Trump said the US would reimpose a naval blockade against Iran.
Kpler data showed 14 vessels crossed the strait on Sunday, half of them commercial ships, the lowest daily total since June 13, and at least three commodity vessels had crossed so far Monday. Kpler said the waterway was not completely closed but traffic was significantly disrupted by security risks, while another tracker said some crossings were going dark and totals could rise as additional transits are verified.
