SBI Holdings Buys Majority Stake in Singapore Crypto Exchange Coinhako, Signs Ondo Finance Tokenization Deal
SBI Holdings acquired a majority stake in Singapore-based crypto exchange Coinhako, making the platform a consolidated subsidiary of the Japanese financial group. The transaction, completed on July 16, was structured through a capital injection and the purchase of shares from existing shareholders in holding company Holdbuild.
The group also signed a tokenization partnership with Ondo Finance to build a cross-border digital asset network across Asia. The acquisition received regulatory approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the platform will retain its major payment institution license, and the financial value of the deal was not disclosed.
