Tether Mints $1 Billion USDT on TRON, Raising Supply Past 90 Billion
Tether minted $1 billion in new USDT tokens, marking the stablecoin issuer’s first billion-dollar creation in nearly two months. The latest issuance pushed the total supply of the stablecoin circulating on the TRON network past 90 billion tokens.
TRON currently hosts 74.9 million USDT accounts, processing more than 2.4 million daily transactions with a daily volume exceeding $22 billion. The new tokens have been deposited into the blockchain, which has emerged as a primary settlement layer for stablecoin payments.
