EIA Cuts Brent Price Forecast to $74 a Barrel, Projects Global Oil Surplus for 2027
The U.S. Energy Information Administration cuts its forecast for Brent crude oil to around $74 a barrel in the third quarter, down from a $101 projection last month, as it projects a global supply surplus of 5.03 million barrels a day in 2027.
The agency revised its 2026 oil demand growth estimate to a decline of 1.22 million barrels a day and expects global oil trade flows to fully rebound from Iran war disruptions by year-end. EIA raises OPEC+ crude output to 32.17 million barrels a day in June, noting that offline supplies in June fell to 13.20 million barrels a day from 16.74 million in May.
