Russia Bans Diesel Exports Until July 31 To Avoid Domestic Shortages
Russia banned diesel exports until July 31 to increase domestic supply after attacks on energy facilities damaged some refineries, cut gasoline production and put fuel stations under pressure, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and the government said.
European diesel margins rose to a record $60.17 a barrel after the ban, LSEG data showed. Russia accounted for about 11% of global diesel supplies last year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg from Vortexa, and Ukraine said earlier its drones had hit three refineries and tankers in overnight strikes.
