Meta Launches First Paid AI Developer Model Muse Spark 1.1 With API Priced at 25% of Rivals
Meta has launched Muse Spark 1.1, its first paid artificial intelligence model for developers, and opened the Meta Model API in public preview. The agentic model operates with a 1M token context window and rivals GPT-5.5 and Opus 4.8 in coding evaluations. The new API runs at roughly 25% of the price for comparable top models from OpenAI and Anthropic, following a free token threshold.
Early partners testing the system include Replit, Box, and Cline, with the model available through existing Meta AI tools that have recently begun rolling out image and video generation in limited markets. The release marks the company’s first monetization layer for its developer stack, expanding on previously announced research and consumer-facing multimedia tools.
