BYD Vehicle Sales Rise 5.5% to 403,472 as Exports Hit Record
BYD reported global vehicle sales of 403,472 in June, marking a 5.5% year-over-year increase and extending the electric vehicle maker's sales recovery to a second consecutive month. Wholesale sales for new energy vehicles, or NEVs, climbed 5.46%, according to Chinese market tracker Cnevpost and investor data released Tuesday.
The growth was driven almost entirely by overseas demand, with exports reaching a record 175,349 vehicles, up 95% from a year earlier. International sales offset continued weakness in the domestic Chinese market, which has been weighed down by steep price cuts and intensified competition. Cumulative sales through the first half of 2026 reached 1.81 million units, underscoring the company's expanding global footprint.
