Saudi Crude Exports Average 5.8 Million Barrels a Day
Saudi Arabia's crude and product exports averaged approximately 5.8 million barrels a day in recent days, according to sources cited by Argus Media. The figure corrects earlier reports that placed the pace near 6.3 million barrels a day. Media outlets had cited the higher estimate to signal a rapid rebound in oil supply following a ceasefire between the United States and Iran. However, sources familiar with the shipments clarified that the 6.3 million barrel figure included crude from previously stranded cargoes, while the 5.8 million barrel average reflects fresh production moving through the region.
The correction comes as maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz stabilizes at a tentative pace. Commercial vessel crossings have rebounded to an average of roughly 40 per day, according to tracking firm Kpler, though this remains well below the pre-conflict average of about 100 ships daily. Recent shipments, including four supertankers loaded with fresh crude at Ras Tanura, have cleared the Persian Gulf in convoys. Vessels are navigating the chokepoint using a mix of US-escorted Omani waters routes and the Iranian northern traffic scheme, as regional producers attempt to restore export flows.
