Prosus Profit More Than Doubles as Core Earnings Jump 84%
Prosus, the technology investment group that owns stakes in food-delivery platforms Just Eat and iFood, reported that annual profit more than doubled for the fiscal year ending June 30, beating analysts’ estimates. Core earnings jumped 84%, marking a broad rebound with all geographic regions posting a profit.
The financial results strengthen the Amsterdam-based firm as it shifts focus toward portfolio expansion. Chief Executive Tim Fung told the Wall Street Journal that Prosus is actively pursuing both outright acquisitions and minority stakes to build on the group’s earnings growth and grow its technology holdings.
