Anthropic's Claude Models Now Available on Microsoft Foundry Running Nvidia GB300 Blackwell Ultra
Anthropic and Microsoft announced June 29 that Claude generative AI models are now generally available within Microsoft Foundry, hosted directly on Azure infrastructure. Azure customers can access Claude Opus 4.8 and Claude Haiku 4.5 with authentication, billing, and commitment retirement tied to their Microsoft accounts.
The deployment marks a hardware milestone, as the Claude models will now run on Nvidia’s GB300 Blackwell Ultra systems for the first time. Inference operates on Azure cloud infrastructure managed by Anthropic, with initial support for prompt caching and extended thinking features. The release follows months of co-engineering between Anthropic, Microsoft, and Nvidia to integrate the AI capabilities into Microsoft’s enterprise software suite.
