SK Hynix Files for $30 Billion Nasdaq IPO Under Ticker SKHY
South Korean memory chipmaker SK Hynix filed a Form F-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday, formally moving forward with an initial public offering on Nasdaq. The filing targets a raise of approximately $30 billion and lists the ticker symbol SKHY. The listing will create a separate, publicly traded subsidiary for the AI memory chip business, which is currently part of SK Hynix Inc.
Proceeds from the Nasdaq offering are intended to fund the construction of additional fabrication plants in South Korea and expand production of high-bandwidth memory, or HBM, chips. SK Hynix is the world's second-largest memory semiconductor manufacturer and plays a critical role in the global supply chain for AI data centers, where demand for HBM continues to outpace industry capacity.
