President Trump Bought Apple and Nvidia Shares During April Tariff Sell-Off
President Donald Trump’s brokerage accounts made large purchases of major technology stocks, including Apple Inc. and Nvidia Corp., on April 8 of last year, according to financial disclosures released this week. The trades coincided with a sharp market selloff sparked by the White House's Liberation Day tariffs, just before the administration partially reversed the policy.
The disclosures reveal that Trump executed more than 21,000 stock transactions across eight investment accounts in 2025, averaging roughly 80 trades per day. The brokerage activity was kept hidden until the latest filing released by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics. Market movements on April 9 rebounded 9.5% following a post from the president stating it was a GREAT TIME TO BUY. The combined earnings from his tech trading and crypto ventures pushed his total reported income to over $2.2 billion for the first year of his second term.
