US Bitcoin ETFs Record $4.5 Billion in June Outflows

cryptocrypto-markets 29 posts · 17 accounts

US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) posted $4.5 billion in net outflows in June, marking their largest monthly withdrawal and worst performance since launching in January 2024, according to data from CoinMarketCap. CryptoQuant reported that approximately 100,000 BTC left the ETFs during the month, an estimated loss exceeding $11 billion, which stands as the largest drawdown on record for the funds.

The selloff concludes an eight-day consecutive outflow streak that began on June 22, pushing Bitcoin below $60,000 near its yearly low. BlackRock’s IBIT accounted for $3.55 billion of the total outflows, according to CoinMarketCap. Ethereum ETFs also recorded significant redemptions, with roughly $155 million leaving the sector over a seven-day period. The withdrawals occur as Bitcoin navigates extreme market fear and faces what analysts are tracking as its worst monthly performance since the FTX collapse in June 2022.
