Saudi Aramco Resumes Ras Tanura Crude Loadings After Nearly 4-Month Halt
Shipping data from LSEG, the London Stock Exchange Group, showed Saudi Aramco resumed crude loading at Ras Tanura in the Gulf on Friday, ending a pause of nearly four months. Two supertankers were loading at the port and a third was waiting nearby. The activity marked the first observed loadings at the terminal since early March.
The move follows tentative restart signs from Thursday and adds to evidence that Gulf export flows are recovering. Satellite imagery published Friday appeared to show Saudi Arabia loading four supertankers simultaneously in the Persian Gulf, including two at Ras Tanura and two at nearby Ju'aymah offshore moorings. Kpler ship-tracking data shared by analysts showed confirmed Strait of Hormuz crossings rose to 70 on June 24, up 105% day on day. Another Kpler-tracking update cited a spike of nearly 40 commodity-carrying ship exits.
