Confirmed cases in the DRC surpassed 1,000 this week, with officials reporting more than 250 deaths, including fatalities among displaced people in the northeastern part of the country. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated the outbreak is continuing to outpace containment efforts, noting significant challenges in contact tracing and infection risks for health workers treating patients.
