TSMC Raises Foundry Prices by 5% to 10%
Taiwan media report TSMC has begun notifying customers of price increases across its advanced semiconductor manufacturing nodes, affecting roughly 75% of wafer revenue, according to analysts cited in the coverage. The foundry plans to raise prices for wafers across 7nm processes and below, including both the 3nm and 7nm nodes, by 5% to 10%.
The pricing adjustment follows a directive from management seeking to align foundry chip costs with the higher pricing trends seen by competing memory manufacturers. As the dominant maker of chips for AI processors and consumer electronics, TSMC’s hike will likely impact downstream device and chipmaker margins.
