Elroy Air Reaches Agreement for $1 Billion SPAC Merger
Elroy Air, a cargo drone startup aiming to replace delivery trucks, has reached an agreement to go public through a merger with Columbus Circle Capital II. The transaction values the company at approximately $1 billion and includes a $165 million private investment in public equity (PIPE) transaction, according to Bloomberg.
The deal provides funding for the commercial production of Elroy Air’s Chaparral drone, which is designed to carry payloads of up to 500 pounds over distances exceeding 400 miles. The merger marks the startup’s entry into public markets as it scales autonomous aerial freight capabilities.
