Sambanova Seeks Up to $1 Billion Funding at $10 Billion Valuation
Intel-backed AI chip startup Sambanova is raising between $800 million and $1 billion in a new funding round that would boost its valuation to approximately $10 billion, according to reports. General Atlantic is in talks to lead the round, which could exceed $1 billion and is expected to close as early as next week. The transaction would quintuple the startup's valuation from its previous level of roughly $2 billion.
The reported valuation jump highlights sustained investor appetite for artificial intelligence infrastructure as hyperscalers and enterprises race to build out data centers and deploy generative AI models. Sambanova designs specialized accelerators and unified software platforms aimed at making it easier to train and run large language models, positioning it alongside other companies developing custom silicon to handle workloads traditionally managed by standard GPUs.
