Persian Gulf Crude Exports Rebound to 75% of Prewar Levels, Hormuz Crossings Hit 70
Oil shipments out of the Persian Gulf have climbed back to at least three-quarters of their prewar pace a week after the US and Iran signed an interim peace deal, with about 13 million barrels of crude leaving the region in the three days through Wednesday. Shipping data from Kpler showed confirmed Strait of Hormuz crossings rose to 70 on June 24, up 105% from a day earlier.
Outbound traffic is recovering faster than inbound flows. Nearly 40 commodity-carrying ships exited on June 24, largely via the Omani route, while arrivals were still only about half that pace. Analysts tracking the flows cautioned the current export pace may not be sustainable because loadings remain depressed, even as oil prices slipped back to prewar levels.
