Kalshi Negotiates $40 Billion Valuation for Funding Round
Prediction market Kalshi is negotiating a funding round at a valuation of approximately $40 billion, nearly double the $22 billion valuation it secured in May, according to the Financial Times. The platform is aiming to close the capital raise as early as the third quarter of 2026.
CEO Tarek Mansour stated that an initial public offering is inevitable at the company's current scale, though he ruled out a public debut this year. Kalshi raised $1 billion in its previous funding round, backed by investors including Coatue, Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and Morgan Stanley. Trading volume surged to $17 billion last month, with sports-related contracts accounting for roughly 65% of activity.
