Former Ethereum Foundation Contributor Warns Ethereum Core Development Could Face Funding Crunch in 3 to 9 Months
A former Ethereum Foundation contributor warned that Ethereum’s core development could face a “slow-burning funding crisis” within the next three to nine months, citing spending reductions at the Ethereum Foundation and the expiration of the Client Incentive Program.
Trent Van Epps estimated Ethereum’s core development ecosystem requires roughly $30 million in annual funding and said new institutions and funding mechanisms will be needed, arguing the Ethereum Foundation was not designed to be the network’s permanent steward.
