JPMorgan Cuts Off Anthropic Access for Hong Kong Staff Amid US Curbs on AI Models
JPMorgan Chase has cut off Anthropic access for its Hong Kong staff, according to the Financial Times, in the latest sign that the US fight over overseas access to advanced AI tools is beginning to affect corporate policy beyond the technology sector.
Anthropic has been negotiating with the Trump administration after Washington ordered the company to bar foreign nationals from using Fable 5 and Mythos 5, its most advanced models, prompting it to disable both for all users. The White House has said Fable 5 can return only if Anthropic can ensure the model’s guardrails can’t be circumvented, a standard that security experts cited in prior reports said may not be possible.
