OPEC Maintains Robust Oil Demand Outlook, Sees No Peak to 2050

businessenergy-marketsoil 5 posts · 2 accounts

OPEC maintained its forecast for robust global oil demand growth over the next four years in its World Oil Outlook 2026 and nudged up its longer-term view, saying it sees no peak in demand to 2050. The group also said the world needs $580 billion a year of investment in oil extraction and infrastructure.

OPEC cited a worldwide shift toward more supportive policies for oil use as it raised its longer-term outlook. The report, launched Thursday, reinforces the producer group's argument that continued spending on oil supply and related infrastructure will be needed for years ahead.
