Sensor Tower data cited by TechCrunch show ChatGPT's share of the AI chatbot app market fell to 46.4% by the end of May, dropping below 50% as Google's Gemini climbed to 27.7% and Anthropic's Claude reached 10.3%.

The figures suggest the consumer AI app market is becoming more competitive. Grok, Meta AI and other rivals each accounted for less than 5% of the market, according to the report.
