Anthropic’s Mythos Preview Remains Available to Early Users Despite US Export-Control Order

aiai-governanceai-policy-regulationai-legal-safety 92 posts · 44 accounts

Some early users of Anthropic’s Mythos preview still had access even after a US export-control order last week barred use by foreign nationals and pushed the company to shut down broad access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5. Anthropic said the models could become available again in the coming days as it negotiates with Washington over the restrictions.

The White House and Anthropic are working on a formal framework to quantify the severity of AI jailbreaks and standardize how similar incidents are evaluated in future. The proposed benchmarks would measure how far safeguards were bypassed, what capabilities were exposed and the practical consequences of a breach.
