AMD Acquires MEXT to Add Memory Technology That Makes Flash Behave More Like DRAM
AMD has acquired MEXT, an AI-driven memory optimization company, adding technology to its data-center platform that is designed to make flash storage behave more like DRAM. The approach is intended to expand usable memory capacity, maintain performance and lower infrastructure costs for AI infrastructure.
MEXT's AI-powered predictive memory technology is now part of AMD's high-performance and adaptive computing portfolio. AMD said the acquisition is aimed at addressing growing memory constraints in cloud and enterprise environments and helping customers scale next-generation AI and general-purpose workloads more efficiently.
