Zelenskiy Seeks 300 Missiles for Winter as Eastern EU States Push Brussels to Speed Air-Defense Funding
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Ukraine aims to conclude the war before winter through diplomacy and pressure on Russia, while urging the European Union and other allies to provide financial guarantees for Ukraine’s army, fast-track Ukraine’s EU membership and deliver at least 300 missiles for winter.
If the war continues, Ukraine will need a winter aid package including gas, diesel and energy equipment, he said. Separately, EU nations on the bloc’s eastern flank are pressing Brussels to speed approval of air-defense funding as more military drones stray into their airspace from Russia and Ukraine, according to sources.
