Strategy’s Bitcoin-Backed Preferred STRC Falls to $91.79, 8.2% Below $100 Par
Strategy’s STRC, the company’s bitcoin-backed preferred stock, fell to $91.79, about 8.2% below its $100 par value, after recent Bitcoin purchases raised investor concern, according to 10x Research. Later in the session, STRC was on track for its lowest close below $90.
The decline follows Strategy’s June 15 disclosure that it bought 1,587 Bitcoin for $100 million between June 8 and June 14 at an average price of $63,024 each, lifting its holdings to 846,842 BTC and its US dollar reserve to $1.1 billion. Separate commentary said the preferred stock remained well below par amid concerns about dividend coverage and stronger competition from Strive’s SATA.
