Strategy Buys 1,587 Bitcoin for $100 Million, Taking Holdings to 846,842 BTC

crypto 29 posts · 21 accounts

Strategy said it acquired 1,587 Bitcoin for $100 million between June 8 and June 14 at an average price of $63,024 per coin, lifting its total holdings to 846,842 BTC. The company also said it increased its US dollar reserve by $100 million to $1.1 billion.

The purchase confirms Michael Saylor's weekend signal that Strategy was continuing to add to its Bitcoin position. It also follows a recent 32-Bitcoin sale that Chief Executive Officer Phong Le said was intended to test the company's selling process, "inoculate the market" and generate tax losses, rather than fund dividends.
