Bitcoin Falls Below $63,000 After Warsh-Led Fed Raises End-2026 Rate View to 3.8%
Bitcoin fell below $63,000, extending a decline that began after the Federal Reserve left its benchmark rate unchanged at 3.5% to 3.75% in Kevin Warsh’s first meeting as chair and raised its median end-2026 policy-rate projection to 3.8% from 3.4%. One-hour liquidations hit $152 million as Bitcoin briefly traded under the $63,000 level and Ether also retreated.
Warsh withheld his own projection from the Fed’s dot plot and dropped forward guidance, while saying the central bank remained focused on delivering price stability. The committee’s projections showed nine of 18 participants expecting at least one rate increase in 2026, reinforcing a higher-for-longer rates outlook that weighed on risk assets.
