US Spot Bitcoin ETF Trading Volume Falls 78% From Peak to $960 Million a Day

Trading volume in U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds has fallen 78% from its October 2025 peak, underscoring a sharp cooling in crypto demand from traditional markets as redemptions continue. Glassnode data showed the 30-day average at $960 million a day, down from $4.4 billion. The funds recorded another $140.85 million of net outflows on June 11 and had already lost $2.97 billion over 10 straight days of withdrawals that Wintermute said, rather than Strategy's Bitcoin sale, pushed Bitcoin below $62,000.

The slowdown extends weakness that earlier this week sent Bitcoin to a two-year low. Glassnode said trading volume across Bitcoin treasury stocks also fell from $34.2 billion a day to $17.4 billion over six months, reinforcing signs that speculative demand from traditional financial markets has been fading, while CoinShares' James Butterfill said recent crypto outflows reflect a "pure sentiment shock rather than a structural break" tied to geopolitical tensions and shifting rate expectations.

Crypto woes: Bitcoin is at 2-year lows and Ethereum is at 4-year lows. Both are stuck below key moving averages and are not responding to oversold conditions. Tech under pressure is also not helping.
