Taiwan Chip-Fab Builder UIS Backlog Hits Record NT$193.9 Billion

United Integrated Services, a Taiwan-based chip-fab builder, had orders on hand worth NT$193.9 billion ($6.1 billion) at the end of May, a record, according to a media report citing President C.M. Lai. Lai said the company’s visibility now extends through 2030.
The backlog comes amid a fab-building drive in Taiwan led by TSMC and Micron. About two-thirds of UIS’s orders are from Taiwan and the rest from overseas, while January-May revenue rose 83.4% from a year earlier to NT$37.6 billion ($1.2 billion).
