European Commission Unveils 21st Russia Sanctions Package Targeting Oil Trade
The European Commission has announced the EU’s 21st sanctions package against Russia, focusing on tighter oil-trading restrictions. The measures are aimed at reducing Moscow’s energy revenues linked to the war in Ukraine.
Earlier details of the package indicated it would also bar sales of LNG tankers to Russia and tighten measures targeting Russian banks, Russia-linked crypto platforms and the shadow fleet, broadening the pressure beyond oil trading.
